In Briefs: Pa. Bank Combines Two Subsidiaries

Susquehanna Bancshares has merged two subsidiaries, Spring Grove National Bank and Farmers First Bank, creating an $875 million-asset institution serving York and Lancaster counties.

Spring Grove had been operating independently since it was bought by $3 billion-asset Susquehanna in 1987. The new institution will have 35 branches and 24 automated teller machines.

Also, Spring Grove president and chief executive Robert L. Strausbaugh retired, but will be a director of Farmers First.
