Correction: 07/11/96 issue: incorrect listing

Because of miscalculations by American Banker, July 11 listings on pages 25 and 28 overstated two companies' midyear ratios of market capital to assets. The correct figures are 25.45% for Wells Fargo & Co. and 20.06% for CoreStates Financial Corp.

The two were consequently ranked too high by this measure among the 100 biggest banks in market value. Wells actually ranked fourth and CoreStates 12th; the page 28 listing of the top 10 should have included National Bancorp of Alaska.
