Cards briefs: EDS Is Hired to Support Secured-Card Program

First National Bank of Marin has entered into a five-year agreement with Electronic Data Systems Corp. to support the bank's secured-card program.

The $40 million-asset bank will use EDS Card Processing Services to process its secured-card accounts.

The agreement calls for EDS to work directly with the bank's newly formed card services company, Marin Credit Card Services Inc., which will provide customer services to the bank's secured cardholders.

EDS' services to the bank include cardholder processing and accounting, reporting, authorizations, exception processing, and collections.

EDS Card Processing Services, a division of the company's Electronic Commerce unit, supports 16 million cardholder accounts and provides merchant processing support for 300,000 merchants worldwide. EDS is based in Plano, Tex.
