Scudder Adds Post In Customer Service

Scudder, Stevens & Clark, a New York-based mutual fund company, has beefed up its services to retirement-plan customers in the Northeast.

Judith Campbell recently joined the company's defined-contribution services unit as Northeast regional manager for client services, a new post. She manages several retirement-plan specialists in New York and Boston who market 401(k) plans, variable annuities, and other tax-deferred offerings.

Scudder, which manages $30 billion of no-load mutual funds, markets some of its funds through bank trust departments and other institutional outlets. More than $9 billion of its asset base is in retirement plans.

Ms. Campbell, who joined Scudder from Fidelity Investments, is a former banker who has worked at the State Street Bank and Trust Co. unit of State Street Boston Corp. and at H.F. Ahmanson & Co.'s Home Savings of America subsidiary.
