Card Briefs: Seafirst ATMs Dispense Passes for Seattle Buses

Seafirst Corp. and Metro, the Seattle public transit agency, said magnetic stripe bus passes are available through selected automated teller machines.

The newly introduced passes are swiped through a slot on the bus fare box. They replace flash passes that had been produced by the built-in ATM printers.

New Fujitsu machines were installed to dispense the more automated passes, which are thicker than currency bills. Metro created colorful new marketing screens for the ATMs to advertise the bus passes.

Metro sells about 2,500 bus passes a month through Seafirst ATMs.
