Card Briefs: Fair, Isaac Establishes Office in Mexico City

Fair, Isaac & Co. announced the opening of an office in Mexico City, its 12th outside the United States, to tap into the rapid growth of Mexico's consumer credit and banking markets.

While the credit scoring and information services company has been active with several major Mexican financial institutions for five years, Carlos Allende, the director of Mexican operations, said the office was needed to "bring us closer to established clients" and attract new ones.

The office will also support Fair, Isaac's alliance with a Trans Union Corp. credit bureau in Mexico City.

"We feel expansion in Mexico will quickly take force next year as smaller companies work to develop credit systems," said Gordon Kaye, senior vice president at Fair, Isaac. "With the size of the population and the opportunities, we want to be part of that expansion."
