Bankers Federal Names Chief Of Business Development

Bankers Federal Savings, a subsidiary of BFS Bankorp, has promoted Doron Nissan to the newly created position of senior vice president of business development.

The New York thrift established the business development post because it had noticed many opportunities for converting residential buildings into businesses.

Mr. Nissan joined Bankers Federal in July 1991 as an assistant vice president in troubled assets, and was promoted to vice president the following year. At that time, he was also named president of Fayette Properties Inc., a subsidiary involved in the managment and sale of troubled assets.

Before joining Bankers Federal, Mr. Nissan had spent six years as a vice president at Crescent Properties Inc., responsible for managing the New York firm's commercial real estate investments.

Bankers Federal Savings specializes in multifamily lending in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Its parent, BFS Bankorp, has $621 million in assets.
