In Brief: Greenspan, Ludwig, Rubin To Speak at Conference

The Treasury Department has assembled an all-star cast of federal financial officials to address a conference, "Toward Electronic Money and Banking: the Role of Government."

The conference will be held Sept. 19-20 at the Sheraton Washington Hotel.

Treasury Secrtary Robert Rubin will deliver the keynote address Sept. 19, and Comptroller of the Currency Eugene A. Ludwig will close the conference at lunch the next day.

Speakers will include Federal Trade Commission Chairman Robert Pitofsky, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, and Rep. Michael Castle, R-Del., who has presided over hearings on new-money developments.

Panel discussions and a rare speaking appearance by Citicorp chairman John Reed also are scheduled.
