Card Briefs: New Cybercash Exec To Focus on Internet

Cybercash, a developer of secure Internet payment solutions, announced that Jeff Irby has become vice president and general manager, credit card services. Mr. Irby will focus on helping banks, clearing houses, and third-party processors take advantage of Internet business opportunities.

Mr. Irby, a consultant and former banker, co-founded the Center for Excellence for Electronic Financial Services at KPMG Peat Marwick. He served as a senior manager in Peat Marwick's financial services consulting practice and as director of retail distribution and product management for Michigan National Bank.

Mr. Irby also assisted the U.S. Treasury Department in its effort to foster development of a nationwide electronic benefits transfer program.

David Dean, another banking industry veteran, joined Cybercash as product manager in the checking services division. He was a former product manager of home banking at H.F. Ahmanson & Co.'s Home Savings of America.
