In Brief: National Preferred Exec On Bike Trek for Charity

Rob Nelson, president of National Preferred Mortgage, will be spending this week pedaling from Southern California to Seattle to raise money for a Christian relief organization.

Mr. Nelson, 36, a competitive cyclist, said a sermon by his church pastor moved him to make the 1,300-mile journey.

The 10-day trip will end at the headquarters of World Vision, one of the largest privately funded Christian relief and development organizations. Marriott Hotels, one of Mr. Nelson's sponsors, will accommodate him during the trek.
