CALL REPORTS: Proposal by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council to revamp the first-quarter 1997 call report. The plan would allow banks to report assets sold with recourse as sales, reducing the amount of capital held against these transactions. Expected to be published shortly; comments due 60 days later.

STORED-VALUE CARDS: Proposal by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to exclude most stored value from deposit insurance. Published Aug. 2; comments due Oct. 31. REGULATION Y: Proposal by the Federal Reserve Board to open more data processing business to banking companies, streamline the application procedures, and abolish tying restrictions on nonbanks. LENDING LIMITS: Proposal by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to let national banks exceed limits on loans to a single borrower if the additional credit is secured by personal property or real estate.
