Corrections: 09/13/96 issue, General Electric Capital

A Sept. 13 article, "Despite Outcry, GE's Card Fee May Become Industry Norm" (page 1), misquoted consumer advocate Ruth Susswein as calculating that General Electric Capital Corp. loses $30 a year on the average convenience user of its GE Rewards card.

That's the rebate paid to a cardholder who charges $4,000 and pays balances promptly, said Ms. Susswein, president of Bankcard Holders of America. But the account would also bring GE $80 to $120 in merchant fees, she added.
