Electronic Commerce Consortium Names 9 Directors

CommerceNet, the consortium promoting Internet commerce, has established a nine-member board of directors headed by chairman and chief executive officer Jay M. Tenenbaum.

The directors of the Menlo Park, Calif.-based consortium represent both technology vendors and users and include a banker, Wells Fargo executive vice president Dudley Nigg.

The directors are "individuals who have played seminal roles in transforming the Internet into a global electronic marketplace," Mr. Tenenbaum said during CommerceNet Week conference activities in San Francisco. "They understand that no one owns this marketplace."

The other directors are: George Conradis, chairman and chief executive officer of the technology consulting firm BBN; Shikhar Ghosh, chairman of Open Market Inc.; Dan Lynch, chairman of Cybercash Inc; William Miller, a Stanford University professor and CEO of Borland International; Robert Rodin, president and CEO of Marshall Industries; Barry Sullivan, a senior vice president with Electronic Data Systems Corp.; and Laurie Tucker, a senior vice president with Federal Express Corp.
