Cards Briefs: Wal-Mart Accepting The Most Debit Card

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is accepting Most debit cards, said Internet Inc., owner of the Most regional automated teller machine network.

Nearly 500 Wal-Mart outlets will accept Most and other on-line debit cards by early 1997, the nation's biggest retailer said. So far 350 U.S. locations have been wired for debit.

All 134 stores in Canada accept the Interac debit card, issued by Canadian banks.

Wal-Mart is sponsored into the Most point of sale program by Carrollton Bank of Baltimore, which has installed ATMs in Maryland Wal-Mart stores.
