Card Briefs: 1 Million GM Vehicles Bought via Card Points

GM MasterCard announced that more than one million new General Motors cars and trucks have been acquired by cardholders since the launch of its rewards program four years ago.

To commemorate the milestone, GM ran a weeklong advertising campaign in October that also cited the card's high customer satisfaction rating in a survey conducted by J.D. Power & Associates.

The one-millionth redeemer, a California woman who traded a Nissan 280SX and $350 on GM Card earnings toward the purchase of a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, received a package of travel gifts.

The company said about 10% of General Motors retail sales involve a GM Card earnings redemption.
