First Union North Names Executive

First Union North, Moorestown, N.J., the southern New Jersey unit of Charlotte, N.C.-based First Union Corp., said it has hired four executives.

Barbara Martinelli was named vice president/relationship manager in the commercial banking group, responsible for new business development in southern New Jersey. Ms. Martinelli was an assistant vice president of commercial banking/business development at Summit Bank, Princeton, N.J.

Dante J. Bucci was named vice president/relationship manager in the middle-market banking group, also responsible for southern New Jersey businesses. Mr. Bucci was a vice president/team leader with the middle market group at United Jersey Bank, which merged with Summit in 1995.

Thomas J. Lawer was named vice president and manager of the Moorestown office, responsible for consumer, investment, and small business sales development in the area. Mr. Lawer was a micro-marketing and distribution manager at Fleet Bank.

Margaret Miners Smith was named vice president and business development officer for government banking in southern New Jersey. Ms. Smith was Sen. Bill Bradley's south Jersey representative with state, county, and local governments and business groups.
