Section to Chronicle Corporate Finance

To track the burgeoning competition in corporate finance, the American Banker today launches a section devoted to covering the field. It will appear in the paper Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The section will track how banks, Wall Street firms, and others are stepping up their efforts to meet the financing needs of midsize and large corporations.

It will follow commercial banks as they move further into the traditional businesses of Wall Street, and it will report on the efforts of securities firms to take a role as corporate lenders. The section will routinely include the views of the ultimate judges: corporate customers.

Look for the Corporate Finance section to provide news about deals, profiles of corporate finance units at banks and securities firms, profiles of corporate treasurers, analyses of financing trends in particular industries, and stories about key personnel.

As we proceed, we welcome your input. Please feel free to contact us.
