Card briefs: Retirement Spurs Promotions at Diebold

William T. Blair, 63, will retire next February as executive vice president and corporate officer at Diebold Inc., the company said.

He will remain a consultant to chairman and chief executive officer Robert W. Mahoney.

Mr. Blair joined Diebold, the leading automated teller machine maker, in 1989 as a vice president. Among other duties, he gave management direction to the North American sales and service organization.

David Bucci, 45, previously the eastern division vice president, was promoted to group vice president in charge of North American sales and service. He will report to Gregg A. Searle, who was named president and chief operating officer in October.

Dennis M. Moriarty, 44, will replace Mr. Bucci, overseeing sales, service, systems, and administration for the eastern division. He will report to Mr. Bucci.
