Card Briefs: Credit Union Waging War on Surcharges

Navy Federal Credit Union is just saying "no" to surcharges on automated teller machine transactions.

The $8.7 billion-asset institution, the biggest U.S. credit union, has won the support of some 80 others for an anti-surcharging program.

Participants receive decals for ATMs that say "No Surcharge Here," and "If you are not a member of this credit union you may be charged a fee by your financial institution."
