Visa Runs Promotions Aimed At Film Fans, the Sports-Minded

Visa U.S.A. Inc. is now running a number of promotions designed to boost cardholder spending.

The San Francisco-based association and United Artists Theaters are giving moviegoers a chance to win a $25,000 Visa travelers check.

The promotion is in conjunction with the Arnold Schwarzenegger holiday movie "Jingle All The Way." The drawing will take place on Jan. 10.

To promote its National Football League sponsorship, Visa is running two sweepstakes. Winners receive a trip to the Super Bowl on Jan. 27.

Patrons of Ruth's Chris Steak House in New Orleans will automatically be entered in the Visa/Ruth's Chris Sizzling Super Bowl Sweepstakes when they pay for their meal with a Visa card.

Customers who stay at Doubletree now through Dec. 21 and pay for their rooms with a Visa card will be eligible to win in the Visa/Doubletree Super Bowl Sweepstakes. Doubletree is also an NFL sponsor.

Both drawings will be on Jan. 4.

Finally, in a partnership with American Skiing Co., Visa is offering "Visa Ski Week" for the winter season - a selection of discounted ski packages in the Northeast area.

Through Dec. 22, and from April to the end of the ski season, the Park City Utah resort is sponsoring the "Deer Valley Prefers Visa" promotion for Visa cardholders.

The "Telluride Prefers Visa" promotion is offering discounts up to 30% off from Dec. 23 to March 29 at Telluride Resort Accommodations in Colorado.

Visa U.S.A. and The Fairmont Hotels and Loews Hotels are offering special room rates now through March 31, 1997.

Guests who pay for their stay with a Visa card at all Fairmont and Loews hotels in the U.S., Canada and Monaco will receive discount rates ranging from $69 to $289 per night.

In addition, American Airlines AAdvantage members will receive 1,000 AAdvantage miles with each stay. Antoinette Coulton
