Card Briefs: Meridian N.J. Unit Adds an 'Amigo' ATM

Meridian Bank-New Jersey unveiled "Amigo," a Spanish- language automated teller machine at Cousin's Supermarket.

Created as a special service for the Hispanic community, Meridian's Amigo program debuted in 1991 at six Pennsylvania locations and has since been expanded to 26 sites. Amigo sites are selected because of their convenience and accessibility to the Hispanic community.

Amigo ATMs use a special microchip with instructions in Spanish. A bright yellow and purple Amigo logo identifies and promotes the program in advertisements, posters, and instructional materials.

Meridian Bank-New Jersey is a subsidiary of Meridian Bancorp, Reading, Pa. Meridian has more than 340 ATMs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
