Why Java's Hot

*Banks will be able to get information into a client's hands more easily and cheaply than ever before. Using pages on the Internet's World Wide Web, customers will be able to download information from their banks.

*Banks will reduce their product distribution costs. Using Web sites, banks will be able to stop printing and sending monthly checking statements. They will no longer have to send different physical programs tailored to each of their customers because customers will simply download the programs as well as the information they need to use when they need it.

*Banks will increase the life cycles of their products. New versions of product programs can be made available to customers with virtually no distribution cost to banks. There will be no need to send new disks to customers.

*Java will allow banks' customers to have an interactive electronic relationship with their bank. Using Web sites, customers will be able to interact with their banks to send, subtract, and modify their accounts as well as simply download them.

*With Java, banks will be able to engage in mass customizations of their products. Even retail checking customers will be able to modify their service programs to call up the services they want. No one will be locked into a program that does not suit his or her needs.
