Capital Briefs: Thrift Advisory Council Gets New President

The Federal Reserve Board appointed the president of First Federal Savings and Loan Association, Hazleton, Pa., as president of its Thrift Institutions Advisory Council.

E. Lee Beard replaces Charles John Koch, president of Charter One Bank of Cleveland.

The Fed also appointed Boston Federal Savings Bank president David F. Holland as vice president of the advisory council, replacing Stephen D. Taylor, who is president of American Savings of Florida.

The council, which consists of thrift, savings bank, and credit union officials, meets quarterly with the Federal Reserve Board to discuss housing issues, mortgage finance, and regulatory matters.
