Card briefs: EDS, Comerica Bring Trucker Card to Cirrus

Electronic Data Systems Corp. has teamed up with Comerica Bank-Texas to bring the Ultrans managed-travel card into the Cirrus automated teller machine network.

Ultrans is a card that truckers can use like a corporate credit card to purchase fuel, register in hotels, and obtain cash while on the road. The EDS Fleet Services division provides the Ultrans card to more than 2,500 companies, with a total of 75,000 active cards.

Comerica Bank-Texas, a subsidiary of Detroit-based Comerica Inc. and a member of the MasterCard-owned Cirrus network, is issuing cards to EDS Fleet Services' customers so that they can have access to more than 106,000 ATMs in the United States and Canada.
