Card briefs: Stamps to Be Sold By Dallas Store ATMs

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. announced that it will reconfigure its automated teller machines at 10 Albertson's grocery stores in the Dallas area to dispense self-adhesive, 32-cent postage stamps.

ACS expects eventually to offer postage stamps throughout its MoneyMaker network of 4,100 ATMs.

The ATMs advertise the stamp availability on their screens and have simple one-touch function keys to initiate the transaction. The sheets of 18 stamps are delivered through the same slot as cash.

Up to three sheets of stamps can be purchased in any one transaction, with the cost deducted from the customer's checking, savings, or credit card account.
