Fannie Mae Names VP for Risk Management

Fannie Mae has appointed Pamela Johnson vice president for risk management.

She will manage the credit issues of new affordable-housing mortgage products and all major mortgage transactions undertaken by the government- sponsored enterprise.

Ms. Johnson joined Fannie Mae, formally the Federal National Mortgage Association, in 1993 as legal counsel.

The agency said she gained considerable familiarity with its products while providing legal support to the marketing division on negotiated mortgage purchases and with legal issues related to mortgage-backed securities and new mortgage products.

Before joining Fannie Mae, Ms. Johnson was counsel for the Resolution Trust Corp.'s securities and finance section.

Earlier, she spent eight years in private practice, first at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, in San Francisco, then in the Washington office of the Philadelphia-based firm of Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll.

Ms. Johnson received a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
