In Brief: Huntington Rolls Out A Corporate Card

Huntington National Bank has entered the market for corporate purchasing cards.

The Huntington MasterCard comes equipped with controls that can restrict how and where employees use them. These controls are checked electronically at the point of sale.

A bank spokeswoman said Huntington would target companies, primarily in Ohio, with at least $25 million in sales. Seven companies are already signed, with a target goal of 30 to 35 by the end of 1996.

Purchasing cards are intended primarily for transactions under $5,000. Typical applications include repetitive purchases such as coffee service, courier charges, and courier repair, along with general expenses such as temporary help and trade show repairs.
