M&I System Adapted For Sun Computers

M&I Data Services announced that its data warehouse product for banks is available on a computing platform from Sun Microsystems Computer Co., Mountain View, Calif.

The data warehouse system, called Information Desktop, lets banks pull data from multiple application systems to a single repository where it can be used more efficiently.

Information Desktop is now running in Sun's Sparc Solaris operating environment at M&I Data's data centers.

Sun's "network-centric computing environment and data-base-friendly architecture make Sun an ideal environment" for running Information Desktop, said Rick Roy, vice president with M&I Data. The company is a unit of Milwaukee-based Marshall & Ilsley Corp.
