In Brief: Calif. Bank's Growth Spawns a Name Change

Chino Valley Bank will change its name later this year to better represent its growing franchise, parent company CVB Financial Corp. announced last month.

Upon completion of the acquisition of Citizens Commercial Trust and Savings Bank, Pasadena, Chino Valley will become Citizens Business Bank. The deal is slated to close in the second quarter.

CVB said the name change stems from the bank's financial growth and geographic expansion over the past four years. Upon completion of the Pasadena deal, CVB Financial would have assets of $1 billion.
