Card Briefs: National Data to Process Cards for Black & Decker

National Data Corp. has been hired by Black & Decker Corp. to process purchasing card payments.

With the alliance, Towson, Md.-based Black & Decker said it would be able to accept purchasing cards from its corporate customers while cutting the time it takes to be paid for goods and services.

National Data predicts that its card authorization, processing, and settlement process would take only two or three business days, allowing Black & Decker to receive payment much more quickly than it would if it made out a purchase order and waited for a customer to mail a check.

National Data processes more than 2.5 billion transactions per year for purchasing cards, credit cards, and debit cards.
