Bisys Expands Its Role with Barnett's Funds

Bisys Group, a leading computer services and outsourcing company, is expanding its mutual fund services agreement with Barnett Banks Inc.

The Little Falls, N.J.-based company announced Monday that it had been rehired to administer and distribute Barnett's proprietary Emerald Funds. In addition, Bisys will now do the accounting and be transfer agent to the $3.9 billion-asset fund family.

In recent weeks, Bisys has clinched similar contracts to service the mutual fund complexes of Chase Manhattan Corp., and First Chicago NBD Corp.

Under the new agreement with Barnett, Bisys will also handle the record keeping functions for the Jacksonville, Fla.-based banking company's small- business 401(k) plans.
