First Union Ga. Adds Multimedia to Its Sales Pitch

Commercial banking relationship managers at First Union National Bank of Georgia are using multimedia sales software originally designed for the entertainment industry.

The software, known as Pitchman, lets users incorporate full motion video, audio, graphics, and text in sales presentations given from laptop computers.

First Union Georgia is the first commercial bank to use the software, designed by Interactive Excellence, which is also based in Atlanta.

"We wanted to add sizzle to our sales presentations and to equip our relationship managers with another way to differentiate First Union from its competition," said Gary Harstick, vice president at First Union Georgia.

He said Pitchman lets bank employees build customized sales presentations in minutes. Printed color documents from the presentation can be left behind with clients.

Terms of the deal between First Union and Interactive Excellence were not available.

First Union Georgia is a $7.5 billion-asset unit of Charlotte, N.C.- based First Union Corp.
