Assets in U.S. money market funds jumped 0.38% to $813.7 billion for the week ending April 4, according to the Investment Company Institute.
The increase in assets came despite a slight falloff in institutional portfolios.
Assets of the nation's retail money funds increased by $3.22 billion during the week to reach $570.36 billion. Taxable retail portfolios gained $1.79 million in assets, while tax-exempt funds rose by $1.43 billion.
Institutional funds, however, lost $92.3 million to settle at $243.34 billion in assets. Taxable institutional portfolios fell by $1.07 billion, while tax-exempt institutional funds grew by $980.4 million.
