Tech Bytes: Information Technology Offers PC Banking Tool

Information Technology Inc. has announced the availability of a home banking product.

The Windows-based software, called PCbanc, lets bank customers with personal computers make bill payments, view account information, transfer funds between accounts, and get information on bank products.

Access to the PCbanc service is controlled by consumer-selected passwords.

The software keeps track of customer traffic, so financial institutions can gauge usage of their on-line service.

PCbanc also can be tied to Information Technology's targetmarketing software.

More than 3,500 financial institutions run Information Technology software. The company has offices in Lincoln, Neb. and Birmingham, Ala.
