Capital Briefs: Head of ABA Economics Panel Bowing Out

Lynn Reaser was to conduct her last meeting as chairman of the American Bankers Association's economic advisory committee today.

Ms. Reaser is one of the thousands of First Interstate employees who are losing their jobs in the Los Angeles bank's merger with Wells Fargo. Because ABA committees must be headed by full-time bankers, Joel L. Naroff, chief economist for First Union Corp., will take over.

The group of nine bank economists meets regularly to come up with consensus forecasts of the economy.
