In Brief: NationsBank Hires 2 At Money Manager Unit

NationsBank Corp. has hired two salespeople to drum up business for its institutional investment management subsidiary, TradeStreet Investment Associates Inc.

TradeStreet announced Monday that it named Christine "Tina" Brownlie and David Jenkin as directors of business development. The subsidiary, established last November, has approximately $32 billion under management.

TradeStreet president Andrew M. Silton has said that the firm needs new investors to hit revenue goals of at least $40 million this year. Mr. Silton added that most of TradeStreet's new clients have come from the Southeast, but with the addition of Ms. Brownlie and Mr. Jenkin the sales campaign will be waged nationally.

"Given the scope and size of NationsBank, we're seeing leads from all over the country," he said.

Ms. Brownlie, formerly a vice president of marketing for Prudential Asset Management Co., will promote TradeStreet to investment consultants.

Mr. Jenkin, previously an associate vice chancellor of university development at North Carolina State University, will pitch investments to existing institutional NationsBank clients.
