City National Of California Appoints Two Executive VPs

City National Bank, the principal subsidiary of City National Corp., Beverly Hills, has appointed two executive vice presidents and a controller.

Stanley J. Kafka was named executive vice president of the real estate/loan department, and Frederick W. Taff was named executive vice president of the Westside Commercial Banking Center.

Mr. Kafka was with Union Bank in various senior management positions. He was recently president of Stanco Properties, a subsidiary of Union Bank.

Mr. Taff, who joined City National in 1992, previously worked at Citicorp for 15 years.

Heng W. Cheng, an 11-year employee with City National, was named controller. Before joining the bank, he was a senior audit manager at Price Waterhouse in Los Angeles.
