Card Briefs: Studies Set on Atlanta Stored Value Project

Business Dynamics Consulting of Nyack, N.Y., and Brittain Associates in Atlanta will conduct independent merchant and consumer studies of the stored value pilot taking place in Atlanta during this summer's Olympic Games.

The two card industry specialists will produce a study combining behavioral and business implications related to the smart cards, which will be available to visitors and Atlanta residents alike.

The study will contain three sections: smart cards as a product innovation; results of primary marketing research among consumers and merchants; and an interpretation of the research results.

The purpose of the study is to compare the reality of the marketplace with years of theoretical market research, said James B. Shanahan, a partner in Business Dynamics.
