Wells Customers Can Move Money Among Accounts On-Line

Wells Fargo & Co. announced that its customers can do on-line account transfers via the Internet.

Using the bank's World Wide Web site, customers can move money among various accounts - including checking, savings, money market, and credit card.

Customers also can pay balances on credit cards and other lines of credit, or tap credit by moving funds from a credit card account to a deposit account.

Bank executives said consumers soon will be able to make payments over the Internet "at any time, to anyone," from Wells accounts.

Customers of the former First Interstate Bancorp, which Wells officially acquired last month, will be able to use the Internet banking service when their accounts are converted to Wells Fargo accounts later this year.
