Now It's Easier to Browse Through Our Pages

The American Banker today introduces its first daily edition on the Internet's World Wide Web, the fast-growing computer network that promises to revolutionize our delivery of time-sensitive news and information about the financial services industry.

American Banker Online, which can be accessed at http://www.americanbanker.com, will include every article that appears in the daily print edition, the weekly stock tables of financial service companies, and the newspaper's ever-popular industry rankings.

Later this year, readers of the Web version will also be able to search for and download archived articles from up to a year ago, and interact with industry leaders, consultants, and regulators through on-line forums.

The Web edition will eventually incorporate expanded coverage of banking technology and electronic commerce, said Brian Tracey, managing editor for on-line products.

"American Banker has been the preeminent source of banking news and trends for over 160 years, and the Online edition is a logical step for us to maintain that position into the 21st century, as our readers demand more timely, personalized access to information," Mr. Tracey said, adding that the electronic edition will be published at 10:00 eastern time the night before the print publication is delivered.

American Banker Online will be available on a free trial basis until July 22. After that, print subscribers can get access to the on-line edition for $100 a year, and readers who want only the on-line product will be charged $550. Subscriptions for specific sections of the on-line edition and a "pay-per-view" option also will be available.
