Briefs: Revamping Credit Suisse Closes Atlanta Office

Credit Suisse has closed its Atlanta representative office and transferred corporate and private banking activities for the Southeast to New York, the Zurich-based bank confirmed.

The Atlanta office was officially closed Jan. 1 as part of a broader reorganization under which Credit Suisse transferred its commercial banking operations to Credit Suisse First Boston, or CSFB. CSFB has its own office in Atlanta.

Private banking operations of Credit Suisse will continue to be run through offices in Miami, New York, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, a spokesman for the bank said.

As part of the move, Rino Schena, head of Credit Suisse's private banking operations in the Southeast, has moved to New York, together with Robert N. Finney, former head of the Atlanta office, who was named a managing director at CSFB.
