Cards Briefs: Ill. Libraries Pick Diebold Campus Card

Diebold Inc. said it will supply the Schaumburg (Ill.) Township District Library System with a campus card system.

More than 125,000 patrons are to use a multifunction photo identification card that carries a magnetic stripe. They will be able to pay for making copies and using personal computers, laser printers, and microfilm machines.

The main library in Schaumburg and branches in Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park, all Chicago suburbs, will be connected to the Diebold system.

Diebold's campus system is used by more than 300 colleges and universities.

Separately, Diebold said it had a marketing agreement with Computrition Inc. to create an efficient procurement and implementation process for colleges and universities seeking to automate food services and debit card operations.

Computrition specializes in nutrition and food production software.
