In Brief: Investors Financial Enters Bank Marketing

Investors Financial Group, which markets insurance and provides broker- dealer services to financial advisers, has bought the investment operations of Compulife, which sells investments through banks.

Privately held Investors Financial, Atlanta, will use the Compulife name for the operations. The seller will adopt a new name for its computer-based sales and training business.

Compulife, a private company based in Richmond, Va., was the 13th- largest marketer of securities and investments through banks in 1996, with $397 million in sales, according to Kenneth Kehrer & Associates, Princeton, N.J.
