N.J. Thrift Group Elects Taylor of Rahway SavingsAs Chairman

D. Russell Taylor, president and chief executive of Rahway Savings Institution, has been elected chairman of the New Jersey League-Community and Savings Bankers, Cranford.

Mr. Taylor was first vice chairman, a post he had also held at New Jersey's Community Savings Bankers, which merged last year with the New Jersey Savings League to form the current organization.

Delfio A. LaMarca, president of Hoboken-based Haven Savings Bank, succeeded Mr. Taylor as first vice chairman of the new trade group.

Abraham Mamary succeeded Mr. Taylor as second vice chairman; Mr. Mamary is president and chief executive officer of Columbia Savings Bank in Fair Lawn.

The group represents 82 thrifts, whose assets total more than $50 billion.
