Wis. Bank Has Buyer for Branch to Be Sold After M&I Deal

F&M Bancorp. has a tentative deal to buy an Antigo, Wis., branch of Security Bank with $35 million of deposits.

Terms were not disclosed.

Security is based in Milwaukee, Wis. The deal is contingent on Security's own sale to Marshall & Ilsley Corp., Milwaukee.

Janet M. Lakso, F&M's vice president of administration, said the agreement reflects its strategy of buying branches in its market area in small towns where it has none. The Antigo branch would boost F&M's assets to $1.4 billion.

The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close in the third quarter.
