National City Names Executive

National City Bank, Cleveland, has named chief financial officer Gary M. Small to the additional post of senior vice president of its financial consulting and analysis unit.

The bank is a subsidiary of National City Corp. Mr. Small, CFO since 1994, joined its Indiana affiliate as vice president of finance in 1985.

The Cleveland bank also promoted Charles D. Moomaw, to senior vice president of corporate human resources. He will manage employment, benefits and compensation delivery, employee relations, and college relations.

Mr. Moomaw, who joined the bank as a recruiter in 1987, has been a corporate training director since December 1995.

National City Corp. hired Richard J. Burrows as a senior compensation consultant in its corporate human resources department. He will be responsible for leading compensation strategies in nonbanking units, which include investments, wealth management, and trust.

Mr. Burrows was an associate in the performance and rewards consulting practice at William M. Mercer Inc. in Cleveland. Before that he was the compensation director for Premier Farnell Corp., a distributor of electrical components, and earlier was a manager in the compensation consulting practice with KPMG Peat Marwick in Cleveland.
