Tech Bytes: Sanwa Completes StepTo Year 2000 Readiness

Sanwa Bank California said it has completed the first phase of preparing its systems to cope with the so-called year 2000 problem.

The problem involves computer code that makes systems misread date references.

The $8 billion-asset Sanwa, which began working on the problem in 1995, expects to finish fixing and testing its critical systems by yearend 1998.
