Central Carolina Bank has begun offering electronic account access and bill payments through a customized version of CFI Proservices Inc.'s Personal Branch software.
The $5.5 billion-asset Central Carolina also extended the banking day for personal-computer banking customers from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., meaning transactions made before 5 p.m. on business days are credited that day.
"As soon as you transfer money or clear a check, the money is there immediately," said Tom H. Ficquette, director of retail delivery.
The bank offers a free two-month trial of its on-line service. After that it charges $6.95 per month.
