Bank Rhode Names Executive

NEW ENGLAND

Bank Rhode Island, East Providence, has hired J. Peter Stickeler to be executive vice president and chief lending officer.

He will direct the bank's commercial, commercial real estate, and small- business lending.

Mr. Stickeler had been senior executive vice president of commercial lending at Rhode Island Hospital Trust, a unit of BankBoston Corp. Earlier, he was director of middle-market lending in Fairfield (Conn.) and Westchester (N.Y.) counties for Connecticut Bank and Trust Co.

Bank Rhode Island has $484.5 million of assets.
