KeyCorp Taps McClain to Lead CRA Efforts Nationwide

KeyCorp, Cleveland, has promoted Jerome G. McClain to executive vice president of community reinvestment for KeyBank NA, the unit that will become its nationwide bank.

He will direct community reinvestment initiatives and lead a team of seven community development managers responsible for community reinvestment administration and Community Reinvestment Act mortgage originations.

Mr. McClain had been senior vice president and CRA manager for KeyCorp's Midwest region, which consists of Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. He will remain president of Key Community Development Corp., KeyCorp's community finance unit, which specializes in local development and small business groups.

KeyCorp also elected Carol A. Cartwright, president of Kent State University, as a director.

Ms. Cartwright, the first woman president of an Ohio university or college, has been a director of KeyBank since 1991. Earlier she was a director of Society National Bank, a KeyBank predecessor.
